EMMA
GARDNER

My name is Emma Gardner, I am a Licensed Massage Therapist and private yoga instructor.  I love working with people to improve their health and quality of life and I am passionate about what I do.

I aim to facilitate healing by heightening the client’s body awareness; relieving tension in the muscles to calm the nervous system and revive the dormant potential that lives in all of us.  I offer a variety of Eastern and Western massage modalities as well as customized yoga sessions to help you re-center, relax, and restore.

Whether you need an expert touch to alleviate specific muscle pain and tension; you're looking to recover and regain mobility after an injury/surgery; or you're looking to destress and rebalance your vitality - your happiness and health are worth the investment.  I will work with you to create an integrated treatment plan based on your personal needs and goals to help you achieve a more holistically balanced body.

  • EDUCATION

I obtained my massage education in Samara, Costa Rica at the Costa Rica School of Massage Therapy (CRSMT) through their premier 700-hour study aboard program.

Along with anatomy, physiology, kinesiology, and pathology, our core curriculum included modalities such as Swedish, Trigger Point Therapy, Myofascial Release, and CranioSacral Therapy.  At CRSMT, their educational approach focuses on analyzing posture and pattern movement, identifying neuromuscular pain cycles, and correcting postural imbalances by addressing not only the areas of pain, but the  compensatory muscles, and the mental/emotional aspects that influence the way our bodies heal.

I also attended the 100 hour Asian Modalities course at CRSMT in which I studied the Five Element theory and learned two forms of Asian bodywork: Shiatsu and Thai massage.   These unique modalities provide a comforting, grounding alternative to those who may stray away from traditional table massage.  Both of these gentle treatments aim to balance the body's energy systems and are performed on a mat on the floor with the client fully clothed.

I continued my education for yoga through the Costa Rica School of Yoga as well.  In 2017 I completed the 200 hours course for yoga teacher training which focuses on Hatha style yoga, using props for proper alignment and asana development.  I have been a practicing yogi for over a 15 years and I have been instructing personal lessons for over 3 years.

I am a a member of America Massage Therapy Association and Yoga Alliance
