At Vitality Massage & Bodywork we offer a variety of modalities including Swedish, deep tissue, sports massage, craniosacral, thai massage, and shiatsu. You can learn more about each modality here.
If you are unsure which is right for you, you can call for a free phone consultation. Our therapist will listen to your specific concerns and needs to help set up a treatment that is right for you. If you’re interested in multiple modalities be sure to tell your therapist during your in-take process, some modalities may be combined for a unique and custom experience.
For those seeking to manage daily stress or to maintain physical wellness, one massage a month is common. You can add massage to your monthly routine and while saving on every service by joining our Membership Program today. Learn how here!
However, in certain situations, weekly sessions may be advised. For example, if you are suffering from chronic pain and if your discomfort is causing impediments on your daily life, interrupting your sleep and work routine, weekly sessions can help to better assess the areas of concern and achieve quicker results.
For those who experience occasional on-the-job discomfort, and for those who lead a particularly active lifestyle, incorporating massage therapy at least twice a month may be optimal for therapeutic relief.
If you are experiencing a fever, a communicable disease/virus (i.e. cold or flu), or a contagious skin condition (i.e. poison oak/ivy, ring worm, etc), please do not come in for a massage.
Massage is not recommended directly after recent surgery, severe sunburn, or acute injury - medical diagnosis and clearance may be required. Massage is also not recommended if you are experiencing hypertension with systolic blood pressure above 160 mmHg and or diastolic blood pressure above 100 mmHg combined with syncope, tachycardia, headache, nausea or vomiting.
Please ask your doctor if you have any concern about massage being right for your specific medical conditions.
Missed appointments or those cancelled within 24 hours will be charged a $35 cancellation fee, which will be added to the client’s account to be paid upon the next service.
If you need to reschedule or cancel your appointment, please do so at least 24 hours prior to allow that time to be available to others.
Vitality Massage & Bodywork offers options for both clothed and draped massage. During Thai massage, shiatsu, and craniosacral therapy the client remains fully clothed through the entire session.
For Swedish, deep tissue, and sports massages, you may undress to your level of comfort. Whether you decide to remove your undergarments or leave them on, you will be properly covered/draped through the entirety of your session; only the area being worked on will be exposed. Additionally, no areas will be exposed without your consent.
Please let your therapist know immediately if you feel uncomfortable for any reason at any time during your session.
Some clients prefer to talk through their sessions and that is a-ok! This is your massage, your time, and your experience to enjoy. However, you may find that as your session progresses, your mind and body will slow down and you will find that happy place between consciousness and relaxation.
We encourage you to go inward to become in-tune with your body and allow your parasympathetic nervous system to engage, allowing you to “rest and digest” and your muscles to heal and recover.
Most importantly, there are time you should speak up. If you feel the uncomfortable at anytime during your massage please let your therapist know. Adjustments can be made to pressure, temperature, light, noise/music, and even aroma - we love for you to be “zen’d out,” so speak up!
Please notify your massage therapist as soon as you know you will be arriving late.
When you arrive, your therapist will accommodate you for the remainder of the session. In order to prevent further schedule conflicts, your session will be extended no longer than 5 minutes past the originally-scheduled time.
Ultimately, please try to arrive on time so that you may enjoy the entirety of your massage time.
